Back 2 School Session Aug. 12th-Oct. 12th

Beginning a new session at Olympia is a lot like the beginning of a new year at school. The first week is always a bit crazy as the parents & students learn class procedures & coaches are learning & assessing their new students skills. Please be patient with us! We love communication with our parents. We may be running in and out of the gym, making it difficult to speak face to face next week, but please email us with any questions or concerns if you cannot tie us down to speak face to face.
The entire Olympia Staff is so grateful that you have chosen Olympia Gymnastics to be a part of your child's gymnastics!

Dress Code These requirements are for the Safety of your Child(ren) and are necessary for participation.
  • Girls and Boys can wear any form of flexible clothing that is absent of hoods, skirts, snaps, buttons and zippers. Clothing that is overly loose and baggy can make it more difficult for the instructors to spot your child. Long hair must be in a ponytail. Avoid anything that is hard on their head. Bare feet are required and no jewelry can be worn. No clothing that has vulgar language will be allowed in the gym or viewing area out of respect for all families.
  • Tumbling will require form fitting athletic wear without hoods, skirts, zippers, snaps or buttons. Long hair must be up in ponytails and please do not use scrunchies or holders with hard pieces. No baggy clothing, mid drift shirts or jewelry including cloth bracelets, anklets, or chokers will be permitted.
  • Modesty is asked to be considered when dressing your child. If staff feels at any point modesty is an issue, staff will address the parent in private & will be asked to correct it.
  • Slip On Shoes or no shoes at all! (students participate in class barefoot or socks with grips. Cheer Tumble shoes are permitted)
  • Long Hair pulled back
  • No jewelry *stud earrings are ok*
  • NinjaZone Students Are Required to Wear NinjaZone Uniform Purchase NZ Uniform Here or inside the office
  • NinjaZone Shorts *black if possible* (no zippers, buttons, or jeans)

  • Do not enter the viewing area until 5 minutes before class begins.  This allows us to get the previous parents & students out of the viewing area to prevent so many bodies inside at once.

  • Cubbies will be INSIDE the gym.  Students will come inside the gym to place their shoes in the cubbies. *TINY TOTS shoes can be Kept With Parent*

  • Bring water bottles inside the gym with the student. The students take water bottles with them to keep them together as a group as much as possible during class time and allow the kids to drink water as they need it.

  • The First 10 Min. of Class Students will line up with their coach & move to their 1st apparatus to warm up & begin asap!

  • Parents Are Welcome to Stay & Watch!  Our Viewing Area is small but we love to have our parents stay & watch their child in class. Please be courteous of other families & do not stand in front of the windows as this limits visibility for everyone else trying to watch their child. We ask that you do not eat in the viewing area. We have picnic tables outside for eating. Please do not coach your child from the viewing area. Our coaches are well trained & know the safe progressions necessary for gymnastics skills. Gymnastics is a slow progression sport as each rung in the ladder of a skill must be done correctly before moving onto the next progression.  *PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT OLYMPIA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILD ONCE CLASS IS OVER.*

If your child is having a hard time going into the gym, keep them with you in the viewing area while allowing them to watch their class. Gentle encouragement is helpful. Sometimes it will take time for them. We do not want to force the child to go into the gym. We have learned that sitting with a parent in the viewing area & allowing them to observe the class is helpful. Almost always the child will want to go & join the class on their own time. Unfortunately we cannot allow parents in the gym per USAG & SafeSport Regulations.

When Class is Over:

Tiny Tots will be brought inside the viewing area by their coaches.  Please be visible to your child & the coach.

All other Classes will be brought TO THE PICNIC TABLE AREA.

If you are watching your child inside the viewing area, please exit the viewing area 5 minutes before the class is over to meet your child outside & allow the next class to come into the viewing area. ie: 5:20, 6:20, 7:20, etc.
